Personal Style: Mixin' The Prints

Dress: Handmade/Me, Boots: Dr Martens/Custom, Shirt: Thrifted

The lighting in these pics are so weird because of the snow! I love it, though. Snow gives my back yard this blue glow-y light when I take pics and while they turn out darker than usual, I love how they look.

I've been SUPER BUSY IT'S RIDICULOUS! But it's a good thing. I've been so happy the last few weeks. Of course, there have been moments of bad, so it's not been all great, but so far I do love what I've been up to. I hope it lasts.

Here is a getting to know you factoid- I am hideously pessimistic. Even when everything is going just fine I can't relax at all, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. When is the world going to end and when is everything going to be bad? I just can't seem to let myself be happy. I wish sometimes that I could just chill out.

Oh well. Looking at the pics, this is one of my favorite outfits. I really love how it looks and I love that I made that dress. Even though I've been enjoying the snow and love wearing my Watson coat (Ally, did you notice I was wearing it at our meet-up?!), I'm ready for slightly warmer weather. I don't need super warm- but 50 or 60 degrees would be nice. Cool enough for tights, boots and jackets, but not summer yet. That's what I like.

Well, I'm off! Come back tomorrow for some Tuesday Inspiration. ;-)

  3. Too cute! I love the stripes with the patterned dress. I think 60 degrees would be ideal for my wardrobe. Unfortunately, we only have about two days in the spring and two days in the fall of that. The rest is too cold or too warm. I hate the climate here. Frankly, I rather be farther North again (the summers are at least not so hot and humid).

At any rate, love the layered look!

  4. I love this look! Stripes and flowers are fun to mix together! Very nice!!

And I am with you on the waiting for the other shoe feeling, I've lived with that for years and I do my best to take life one day at a time - somedays are just harder than others.

  7. Lovely printed dress, I love the striped shirt as an undershirt too! I hear you on the busy. I'm so busy and so exhausted. Wishing you luck and more time!

  8. I love your snow photos too! Fun fact - I have never actually seen real snow up close. The closest I've ever been to real snow is seeing it on the very top of a far away mountain. Perhaps that's why snow fascinates me so much?

Love this outfit too! The colours are beautiful, and I'm always a fan of mixed prints.
