Personal Style: A Little Cross

Jeans: DIY/Me, Boots: Dr Martens, Shirts: Thrifted

I am so in love with this shirt I thrifted. I think it's from Ralph Lauren or some other nautical inspired big line (I forget) and I love the lacing on the tunic. I almost wish I could take it apart so I could use it as a pattern to make more.

I thought I would picture these cross jeans one more time before a slight makeover - the paint faded to the point where you couldn't even see the light green crosses anymore. This wasn't my fault. I haven't used those paints in over two years, so they were kind of stale and fabric medium can only do so much. So I went back over them with a dark purple, dark blue and green. It looks wonderful and I'm going to heat seal them this time before washing (meaning- iron them). I know a lot of people automatically seal their stuff when they do acrylic fabric painting but I have found that you don't have to. But since my paints are a little stale I'm going to give it a go.

It's been so cold when I've taken my OOTD photos lately! That's what the last picture is- me going "Oh holy EFF is it COLD!"

This is a short and sweet post. I'm debating on whether I'm going to go downtown today. It's raining and cold, but I need something from South street and I want to hit up the Army Navy store. We'll see. (Apparently what means blizzard to the rest of the world means rain to us.) I'll catch up on my blog reading later today, too, and then probably do my taxes because I think my computer is on it's last leg and I need a new one. :-( I need a new camera, too, so I can take pretty pictures to share with you guys.

I hope you guys have a lovely weekend. See you on Monday!

  1. I'm coveting that shirt. It's like a henley only with lacing instad of buttons... I think my grommet/eyelet setter needs to come out to play...

Anyway, it looks great with your altered jeans.

And I concur on the "Oh holy EFF is it COLD!" :-)

  3. Cute clothes. And I love South Street. It has my (bohemian) vibe.

We're expecting two feet of snow, but I hear you're getting mostly rain. Lucky you!

  8. I love that colour on you Meg, it looks great and I like the lace up style. I really like the design on your jeans - quite striking. A friend of mine in NYC posted pic on fb today & I felt cold just looking at them, so much snow! Keep warm lady xoxo

  9. I totally feel you on the blizzard thing. I live in the South West of England about 25-20 miles from Wales and we had a bit of snow last month but while for most of the country that meant 6 inches + but where I live it was only almost 2 inches. There's been another snow shower last week and towns surrounding mine saw flakes but not my town.

But yeah bring on spring. I don't want to layer >.< that top looks great on you though, I love the colour :D
