Hello blog buddies! It's time for another Inspiration Tuesday post! This is a quick lil post on what is inspiring me this week.
I'm inspired by this post on Sincerely Kinsey on how to wear a graphic tee. I've never heard of Bri's blog (
Secret Life of Bee) before, but I think after seeing this picture, she is a girl I need to follow. I love her look! And I'm thinking while I'm trying out this high waist skirt thing, maybe I should take a page from her book and try a more pencil fitted one. What do you think?
And actually, what is kind of funny, is I found both of these pics on my pinterest feed and I didn't realize it was the same girl until I went to do this post. I love this green skirt and her mermaid sweater. I might need to acquire myself a pencil skirt...
So with a recent shift in my responsibilities at work, my pink hair days are a little bit at an end! It doesn't mean I don't envy/gaze longingly at other people's cool and fun hair. This girl's pink dreads make me smile so much and they look so natural on her.
I'm utterly in love with this striped peplum top from Free People. It looks so nice on this girl! I would wear this. ALL. THE. TIME.
I love this all grey bedroom with touches of color. And that long clock picture! I have a huge canvas, and I have other plans for it, but you have no idea how tempting it is to try making a clock pic like this.
Speaking of things I would wear ALL. THE. TIME. - I love this outfit. I love her lace up boots, her hitched skirt, her sweater and HER HAIR. I LOVE HER HAIR. I would definitely dress like this. I've been telling my mom that I need to start trying to put together these shabby chic outfits because I obviously love them!
I keep trying to draft myself a pattern like this, and it's just not working, so I might have to break down and buy one. I'm addicted to smock dresses on Pinterest. I would love this look.
Where do I begin with how much I love Bella Q.? Her entire blog is inspiring and she's always got great comments and thoughtful advice. She's heartfelt. She means what she says. BUT as my Inspiration posts tend to lean toward style, let's focus on her - AMAZING hair that makes me almost want to cut mine again, AMAZING green tights, AMAZING floral dress and what a lovely quote she tied to her picture.
That's it! That's all I've got! See you tomorrow!
I love hearing your mind think. It expresses thoughts similar to mine, in words I might use, but with more color and humor. You're like a better version of me. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that floral dress with green tights outfit on Bella's blog, I squealed -- it's adorable. Glad to see it again.
Love Bella also--and I NEED a dark floral dress!! Once i find the right fabric I am so making one!!
ReplyDeleteYou could so carry off that shabby chic look!!
Looking at the pattern--I'm thinking is you use a t shirt as a "prototype" to draft the top part (neckline/sleeves) and then cut off under arm holes and gather on the bottom/skirt might work
I love your inspiration posts!!! These and your pinterest really get my creative thoughts churning.
ReplyDeletePencil Skirt? I say 'go for it!' I'm of that awkward not curvy and not quite straight enough to pull them off in-between body shape, which makes me sad. Because they look so gorgeous on so many women!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspirations... might have to check these lovely ladies' blogs out. :-)
I love this post as always Meg - you always find so many great things. I would love to see that dress pattern made up if you do buy it and I need to check out "The Secret Life of Bee" blog for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love all these images, but especially the first two & that Free People striped top - they look super comfy & give me ideas for comfortable, stylish outfits to wear after I have this baby! Bella Q is one of the few bigger fashion blogs that I still follow - I love that she is always genuine & has such a unique take on style.
