Gift Wrapping With Maps

On Tuesday night the girls from work had a little get together. We all went out to Iron Hill in Chestnut Hill for dinner! My boyfriend and I love Iron Hill, so when I found out that was where the girls from work had decided to go for dinner I was super excited! I'm glad they let me know they were doing Christmas presents that night, too, or I wouldn't have remembered to take what I got them!

For two of my newer co-workers, I wrapped little tins of candy and goodies with shiny ribbon. I didn't want to go with traditional Christmas colors because I like things to look a little punky, so I chose the silver/black/white/gold package of ribbons. That yellow fiesta pitcher? That's a gift for my boss, Angela.

After I got the food themed gifts all wrapped up, I wrapped my boss and my manager's present. I got my manager a gift card to etsy since I know loves that site! I made little tags with a map I got at Philly Aids Thrift and put pretty bows on them.

Here is a close-up of the gift tags I made. :-) Aren't they adorable?! I thought so. It was also appropriate because I know my boss loves maps.

I had so much fun doing this, I decided to wrap my boyfriend's presents! When I met up with my mom yesterday, she gave me gifts for my boyfriend from my family, so I wrapped them up and made a paper tree with a green checked shopping bag. I think it looks super cute. And I didn't even realize that the ribbons are almost Steelers themed- his favorite team. Aren't those little bear ornaments cute? My grandma sent them to me.

I love this little window. Like I said, we didn't decorate this year. I got sick a few weeks ago and wasn't able to get the living room cleaned in time (my mister would have cleaned, but it's kind of all my sewing stuff so he didn't know where to put it). Even with this tiny little corner decorated, I already feel a little more excited about the holidays. Of course, that could also be because I got to see my mom.

I hope you have a good weekend. I'll see you again soon!

  1. Nicely done. Simple and unique! I copped out on wrapping this year because the dollar store had these adorably boxes and treat bags.

Love the little tree! Our apartment is likewise minimally adorned (since we both go home for Christmas). We have lights and a couple Santas in our front window. I think my Christmas cactus' crazy blooming is the most festive part.

  3. What a cute way to decorate bags! I never actually wrap, just do the bags. I'm mostly happy I get to give gifts at all! I think maps are a cool step for decorating presents. I used to use the 'funnies' section when I was a kid.

  4. Lovely wrapping Meg:) I love maps too - my jobs have always required that I work with maps and survey plans so they have a special place in my heart. I hope you have an amazing Christmas and FABULOUS New Year!
