Here is the second of my "last minute costume" theme- Sugar Skulls! I was inspired on pinterest by all the beautiful sugar skull ladies on there and I think, even though I didn't come close to their style, I did pretty good. My mom didn't even know it was me in the make up!
I used flowers and jewelry I had lying around, wore an outfit I'd actually wear to work, and used two eye shadow sticks for the face paint. My eyebrows are still a little black (three days later).

Here is a side view of the make up. My mister even helped me with the pictures! Isn't he grand? I'm wearing three of my cameo skull necklaces, one of which is on a vintage rosary.
The flower headband look was achieved by combining the power of all my flower clips and just clipping them across my head.
From the front. I'm a creepy little devil, huh? But I'm awfully cute, too. ;-)
And in black and white! Just for kicks!
I know if you follow my twitter, pinterest or facebook that you've already seen this picture floating around because I made it my profile picture. I told my mister that he should just be glad I don't try and look like this all the time (believe me, I would wear crazy pale make up and look dead all the time if I could!).
I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween! Until next time! xoxo

ReplyDeleteDesiree- Thank you! :-) I didn't realize when I did this two weeks ago that everyone would be a sugar skull! I do love this costume, though, and I'd wear that outfit anyway.
ReplyDeleteTrees- Thank you! OMG YES WE ARE DOING A DAY OF THE DEAD PHOTO SHOOT!!!!! I'm going to start making a list of stuff to do during your visit.
Bethie- Thank you! Happy Halloween!
Terri- Thank you thank you! And yes, he was VERY patient with me. I was kind of in a pissy mood when I did this because my neighbor kept coming outside and I kept rushing into the house to avoid him.
Lara and aprettymess - <3 Thank you!!
Omg! Your make up is beautifully done. And what a fantastic idea for pulling together something out of your closet. I was really impressed by all the recognizable costumes people have pulled together this year.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! you look amazing! what a fine make up!

Megan Mae- Thank you! :-) I'm glad so many people are not buying stuff so much as getting crafty with make up.
ReplyDeleteLyosha- Thank you! :-)
Very nice! Great make-up. Did you go to work like that? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLuckily for me, I didn't have to work on Halloween. That hurricane messed up my sleep and I really needed a recovery! ;-)
DeleteAHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THIS WHOLE OUTFIT SO MUCH. I've been waiting for this post ever since I saw the photo of you with sugar skull make up on. The dress is so cute, and it looks awesome with my favourite cardi & those red tights. Your make up is beautiful too - if I was your boyfriend I'd be happy for you to wear it every day, hahahaha.
