Inspiration Tuesdays: Dark Side of Free People

What used to be known as "Pinsperation" is now just going to be "Inspiration" because I find inspiration from everywhere, not just pinterest.

As some of you probably know, I am an avid stalker of the Free People blog. They always have awesome DIYs and style ideas and they have always been a huge inspiration to me. Their current trend is called "Dark Side of the Moon" and it's a very witchy, bohemian look with lots of dark make up and velvet. It looks super cozy for the winter, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite looks from their site with you. It's awesome, and you don't know how much I wish I could have all of these outfits!

I've always loved turquoise jewelry, even though I've never managed to get any of my own. It is my favorite style of jewelry. No lie. I like this chunky necklace and the denim shorts with tights under, but I really adore this velvety top!

THIS. WHOLE. OUTFIT. Tie-dye jeans, a detailed black long coat and a denim shirt. And that hat! This outfit is just adorable and I'd wear all of it.

I really love this top and those pants. The designers over at Free People always seem to have the best denim in town going for that store.

What a dreamy scarf! I am a scarf hoarder, so when I saw this one I had to post a pic of it. :-) Very cute.

I love these tights! Tights are one of the main ways I stay warm in the winter because not only do I wear them under dresses, sometimes I'll wear them under jeans, too. These star tights are adorable.

BEST. BOOTS. EVER. I love all the buckles and the contrasting sole. Of course, my big purchase this year (I hope) is going to be the Dr Marten Triumphs because I've had a love affair with those boots for years, but these are adorable, too. (And waaaaaaaay out of my price range.)

Full length shot of the jeans that I love. The flare leg and black detailing on them just give them something special. Ugh, I love them. I also love the dream catcher tee and furry vest and gypsy hat. This is pretty much my favorite look.

It looks like their "trends" only last a week because they've already moved on to Ladies of the Canyon, which includes some awesome bohemian looks. Here are my two favorites:

I love this jacket (and those red tinted jeans). Since it's starting to be cold here, I've been looking at jackets. This one had a tough, tomboy, punky feel and it still looks super soft and warm.

I have loved the look of sparkly promish dresses and tops over destroyed denim since I was a teenager and would probably look very much like the above picture if I didn't have to go to work every day. I love the super destroyed denim against the glitter of the top. Very cute.

Aaaaand just for kicks, I've made you a little collage of a few of my etsy favorites that fit in with this theme. Links are below the collage. Until next time!

  5. Trees and Terri- I definitely feel the need for star tights in my life now! Although every time I get "special" tights I always rip them the first time out!

Megan Mae- Aren't those boots awesome? If I ever have $500 bucks to just toss away on shoes, I think I'd have to order from that company. And the jacket. Wishful sigh ;-)

Shybiker- Thank you! :-) I like to make "inspiration" lists because these things inspire me to make my own.
