OOTD: Owls Are Not What They Seem

Dress: Handmade from Bed Sheets & Hand Stenciled
Jacket: Reconstructed, Chucks: Journeys, Flower: Handmade/Me

You might not be able to tell (I can because my face looks swollen here), but in this picture I am f-cking ILL. In fact, as I boarded the bus, all excited to show Liz and Angela my new dress, I felt like it was better to call out sick. I went home, stayed in bed ALL DAY and ended the day with a fever of 101.4 and throwing up. Fun, yeah?

Today is better though.

This is the last of my new Lisette dresses, but not for long! One of these days I'll go fabric shopping and make more! I know, I know, you're tired of the crazy lady in the same dress, but I LOVE it. It's so easy and it looks good belted and not belted and I freaking made this for $3.00. Seriously. This sheet cost me three bucks. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!

I guess you could say $3.50 since the owl statue that I based that stencil on was fifty cents.

In other exciting news, check out the Phantastic Phinds blog for a tiny peek at my house!

Until next time- xoxo!

PS- I wanted to share this on Rachel's Proud of My Size Link Up, especially because I'm sponsoring her blog this month. It's awesome! SOOOO my size is a 14. Rather consistently. In jeans and dresses, and an XL in tops. And I'm fuckin' beautiful.

  3. Get well Meg! I know you make all these dresses using the same pattern, but they are all so unique and different. I really love the owl on this one - also had a wee nosy at your house - OMG a Mr T. Tee Pot? I almost died of awesome!!

Bella Q- Thank you, you rock, lady!

Trees- I love this owl! I love that my boyfriend likes the stencil better than the real owl, too. :-) I knew you'd love that tea pot.

  5. This is such a cute dress! I agree with Trees, each dress is different in its own way. Nothing wrong with keeping a shape you know works for you and is comfortable. I also LOVE your star necklace.

I'm feeling under the weather too. Here's to both of us speedy healing.

  6. This dress is AMAZING! Love, love, love it. The colour is so gorgeous, and that little owl is super cute. I'm loving these dresses belted too, they're super flattering.

  7. Megan Mae- Thank you!! :-) I think I might go a step farther and make a few of these into tops, too. I'm feeling a little over tee shirts right now (I know, GASP! how could that happen?!) and I'd like a non-stretch top in my closet. So wish me luck!! I hope you feel better!!

Stacey- Thank you! I knew you'd love it. I just knew it. I stalked this post looking for your comment because I couldn't wait for you to see it.
